The biggest gift-giving celebration day of the year has come and gone. However, we still have time for fun and fellowship as we “ring in” the New Year. Here is a simple and delightful craft that harkens to one of my favorite holiday tunes.
Materials:
- Empty cardboard egg carton
- Paint brush
- Acrylic paint
- Silver glitter
- Metal jingle bells
- String
Steps:
- Cut 3 individual indented sections of the cardboard egg carton to create the bell shapes.
- Paint the individual shapes, inside and out with acrylic paint.
- While the paint is still wet, sprinkle with glitter.
- Remove any access glitter and let the bell shapes dry.
- Attach 3 separate varying lengths of string to 3 of the metal jingle bells.
- Tie knots in each string approximately one inch above each bell.
- Poke a small hole in the center of the flat part of each of 3 painted egg carton bell shapes.
- Pull a string with the jingle bell attached through each of the holes in the 3 separate bell shapes. Tie another knot at the flat surface on top of each of the bell shapes.
- Gather together all 3 strings near the far end and tie together.
- Hang the bells in a window or on the door to “ring in” 2018.
