Support Your Schools Part 2

By Jean Flynn Ray January 25, 2018

Thanks to your involvement the Wellness Task Force groups for both Pueblo School Districts have been able to collect a lot of data. Through assessing data reports, and collecting additional community input, Wellness Task Force groups have identified the top health priorities that need to be addressed in the Comprehensive Health & Wellness Plans for both Pueblo City Schools District 60 and Pueblo County District 70.

Top Health Priorities for District 60:

1) Mental Health

2) Bullying (including violence and fighting)

3) Substance Abuse

4) Sexual Health

5) Student-Adult Relationships

Top Health Priorities for District 70:

1) School Safety: Bullying, Weapons, Violence

2) Physical Activity

3) Mental Health

4) Substance Use Disorder

5) Lack of Sexual Education

In order to effectively address these issues, the Wellness Task Force groups have identified a number of best practices that could potentially be included in the Comprehensive Health & Wellness Plans. However, these best practices will only be effective if there is broad community support, and if it is feasible to implement these practices throughout each District.

Please help us measure community support and feasibility for the changes we are considering by completing the survey for your school district:

District 60 Community Input Survey

District 70 Community Input Survey

If you have any questions about these surveys or the comprehensive health and wellness planning process for either of the school districts, please contact the District Wellness Coordinator: Meghan Paulson, meghan.paulson@pueblocityschools.us or mpaulson@district70.org
