It has been three years since the last Pueblo West Wet Parade, and this year it is finally back! If you haven't been, the wet parade is a unique parade full of fun! You can bring your favorite water sprayer and join in the fun, or stay dry in the designated dry sections.
Here are a few things to know before heading to the parade:
Parking:
Roads will be closing throughout the morning to prepare for the parade. Expect the intersection of Joe Martinez Blvd and Purcell Blvd to be closed at 7 am. Expect Joe Martinez Blvd and South MChulloch Blvd area to be closed at 10 am.
If you want to drive into the area to find parking, get there before these times! Otherwise, you will need to park elsewhere and walk over.
The parade route:
The Pueblo West Wet Parade will be moving from Joe Martinez Blvd to Gasden Drive to Civic Center Drive. If you want to find a dry section (where no water play is allowed by spectators) it will be found around Camrose Drive.
Water rules:
- There are some rules, that will be enforced, to help keep everyone safe and having fun at this awesome event.
- First of all, be kind. Do not engage in a water fight, spraying, or any other version of getting someone wet unless you know they are wanting to participate!
- Keep the dry section dry.
- You can bring regular toy water guns, sprayers, buckets, or hoses, that can be operated without an external power source.
- Do NOT bring water balloons, high-pressure sprayers, water trucks that can spray pressurized water, or additives like soap, or foam.
- If you aren't sure what to bring, just think of kid-friendly water fun. Nothing that's going to knock someone off their feet.
The parade is truly a unique experience that is way too cool to miss! So get out there and have some fun!
